Which homes suit Classic Cream?
BlueScope describes it as warm and welcoming, with heritage appeal. It tends to suit weatherboard and Federation homes, cottages, homesteads and wide verandahs. For a modern update, BlueScope suggests Woodland Grey trims with materials like cement and grey marble.
Cream can look quite yellow beside bright white window frames, so check the sample against your trims as well as your walls, in daylight.
A cool roof for hot country
On that 0.33 figure, Classic Cream rates light under every threshold BlueScope publishes, NSW BASIX included, and BlueScope names it among its cool roofing colours. Through a long, hot summer, a roof this pale keeps much more heat out of the ceiling space than a mid or dark colour.
Verandahs, patios and fences
BlueScope lists Classic Cream for patios and pergolas, so a verandah or patio roof can match the house. If you have a Domain fence, Classic Cream is the closest roofing colour to it; see our Domain page.
Near the coast
Classic Cream isn't made in Ultra. Between 100 and 200 m of breaking surf, the pale roof BlueScope does make in Ultra is Surfmist, or you can ask whether Classic Cream is possible on request.
Where we land
On a period home or a country house, Classic Cream with Woodland Grey or another deeper trim makes a good-looking, cool roof. On a crisp modern build, we'd compare it with Surfmist first, as cream can look dated next to stark white. Colorbond is a BlueScope trademark; Find My Roofer is independent of it.
